This forum will discuss the evolution of Black leadership from the early days of slavery to Barack Obama's historic candidacy and what lies ahead. Black leaders have had the onus placed on them to advance a race shackled by oppression and remedy vast social and economic inequalities. This panel will discuss the development and role of Black leadership from past, present, and future. In addition, the forum will also examine origins of leadership, public perceptions to the roles and responsibilities of Black leaders, and the differences between Civil Rights leaders and new Black leaders.
This event is apart of the official Black Heritage Celebration. Refreshments will be provided.
