This year, we’re introducing a special $40 ticket price for students. It’s incredibly important to us that students are involved in the pro-choice conversation, and we hope to have a strong presence of students from George Washington Universityat the dinner.
The dinner will be Thursday, January 26, at the Washington Hilton and will begin at 6pm with a reception and silent auction, followed by a sit-down dinner at 7pm. Patrick Murphy, the former US Representative from Pennsylvania currently runningfor Pennsylvania Attorney General, will be our speaker; comedian and actress Susie Essman of Curb Your Enthusiasm will be our emcee; and we will be honoring the DC Abortion Fund with our Champion of Choice Award. With over 1,000 guests– including lawmakers, political figures, progressive leaders, and more – it’s going to be a fantastic event, as well as a great opportunity for any pro-choice student to get more involved with the broader pro-choice community!
You can purchase student tickets online by clicking here (https://registration.prochoiceamerica.org/roe2012student).
We appreciate your support and hope to see you on January 26!
Please contact Marta Hanson at [email protected] or 202-973-3084 with any questions.
]]>As a grassroots organization whose motto is “Respect, Empower, Include, Win,” we deeply value empowering staff and volunteers by building their organizing skills through trainings and leadership opportunities. We know that our power lies in the people behind this movement, and investments in them pay great dividends at every level of our organization. Obama Organizing Fellows are a key part of building that people power in our communities and campuses across the nation.
The Obama Organizing Fellowship Program will train and develop the next generation of community organizers and will help the campaign expand its outreach efforts in communities throughout the country. Organizing is inspiring but difficult work, so only those with a serious interest should apply.
Some Organizing Fellows will work for the Obama Campaign directly while others will work for Organizing for America. Regardless, Organizing Fellows who complete the program will leave with a full understanding of the most effective tools and methods that organizers use to make change in their communities. This program is often a first step in preparing for employment as some Organizing Fellows will go on to full-time jobs with the campaign.
The Obama Organizing Fellowship is a 12-week program which will be held 3 times in 2012: the spring, the summer, and the fall.
