Year of accomplishment and progress receives national recognition.

GW College Democrats are proud to announce that our chapter was the second place finisher in this year’s College Democrats of America Chapter of the Year Award. With over 1,000 chapters at colleges across the nation, College Democrats of America is the official student outreach-arm of the Democratic National Committee.

While we obviously would have preferred to have finished first, being recognized at this high level of achievement - second best Chapter in the country - is a great honor for our chapter and GW. This recognition demonstrates that great transformation our organization has gone through in just one short year.

Former President Sean Smith (B.A. ‘07), “Last year, we truly turned around our organization to become not only one of the best student groups at GW, but also one of the most successful College Democrats chapters in the nation. I am proud of what we accomplished, as should be the entire progressive community of GW. I am happy the organization is continuing with that success so that next year we can be the best chapter in the nation.”

GW College Democrats look forward to even better 2007-2008 school. While we placed second this year, we will be seeking a first place finish in next year’s contest.

The College Democrats would like to welcome the Class of 2011 to GW. Be sure to check out our table at CI!
