Candidacy Statements for GW College Democrats Executive Board 2016-2017

President Lande Watson Hi everyone! My name is Lande, I’m a sophomore from the Bay Area, California, and it would be my honor to serve as your next College Democrats President. From serving as Foggy Bottom Freshman Representative last year to being Political Affairs Director this year, GW College Dems has been an integral part of my college experience. Whether it was canvassing in Kentucky, Georgia, or Virginia, registering hundreds of voters in Kogan, or hearing founder of Vox, Ezra Klein speak, College Dems has given me so many opportunities to grow as an individual and develop a comprehensive understanding of how the organization functions and ways in which we can improve. As the largest student organization on campus, I want to expand leadership opportunities so that more students can take an active role in advocating around the issues they care about and work to grow and strengthen our community. In the midst of the 2016 election, College Democrats can and should be the hub for student political activity on campus. I want all of our members to gain real political experience and feel as though they are truly a part of our community. Executive...
