The Virginia Coalition for Immigrant Rights is looking for Advocacy/Voter Registration fall fellows. The fellows will learn about advocacy at both the federal and state level, fellows will be given an opportunity to learn how to run an effective grass roots to advocacy campaign, and design their own advocacy strategy. Fellows will be give the opportunity to meet with Congressional staff and advocate for immigrant rights on behalf of VACIR. The fellowship will also include the opportunity to take a tour of the capital building with Congressional staff, and learn about advocacy from the perspective of the Congressional staffer. There will also be the possibility of meeting with White House appointee staff.
As it is an election year in Virginia, they will also be requiring their fellows to do voter registration on his/her campus. The goals are as follows:

Each fellow will receive a $500 stipend.
