Everytown for Gun Safety Fall Political Internship

Everytown for Gun Safety is hiring a paid Political Intern for its fall 2015 internship program. The term will begin in September and end in December.

About Everytown for Gun Safety
Everytown for Gun Safety is the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with more than two million supporters including mayors, survivors, and Americans of all political stripes who are fighting for public safety measures that respect the Second Amendment and save lives. At the core of Everytown are Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a grassroots movement of American mothers founded on the day after the Sandy Hook tragedy.

Responsibilities
-Assist in the daily operations of Everytown for Gun Safety’s Political Department
-Conduct in-depth research on the background of elected officials and declared candidates, including but not limited to: Key Votes, Statements, Endorsements, Fundraising and Spending
-Monitor municipal, statewide and federal elections across the nation
-Support the opposition research team as needed

Qualifications
-Excellent research and writing skills
-Humor, entrepreneurialism and an openness to evolving responsibilities
-Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
-Current undergraduate and/or graduate student or recent graduate
