- Last year, we watched North Carolina legislators roll back voting rights, cut education funding, and restrict access to women’s health care. Basically, they made North Carolina one of the most regressive states in the country. But, people in North Carolina stood up against these initiatives through peaceful demonstrations that became known as Moral Mondays.
Now, the Moral Monday coalition is hosting what could be the LARGEST PROTEST in North Carolina history, and we need to help make it happen. I think GW’s LGBT students would make a HUGE impact! This is not just about North Carolina. It is about showing folks all across the country that we are a progressive generation and that we won’t let the rights of our peers be attacked in any state.
Planned Parenthood is trying to turn out as many supporters as possible, so they are providing FREE transport from DC to Raleigh, NC as well as food and swag on the day of the March.
