Washington, DC Democratic campaign fundraising office seeks interns for the upcoming semester. Interns will have the opportunity to work with high-profile U.S. Senators on their re-election campaigns. This is a great opportunity to learn how sophisticated campaigns operate and are funded. Each Senate race raises between $8 million – $30 per 2-year election cycle and you’ll get hands on experience learning the intricacies on how this is accomplished.
This is a very busy office with an average of 3 – 5 fundraisers in DC per week that you’ll get to attend and help organize. Along with attending the DC fundraisers, you’ll have the opportunity to sit in on “call time” with the Senators. Other duties include donor prospecting, event planning and logistics, writing detailed event briefings for the Senators, working with the donor database and fundraising contacts, and the creation of call sheets.
This is NOT your average internship on the hill–you will get to staff Senators and work directly with their official staff. Your research will be reflected in the briefings that are read on a daily basis by the Senators, and you will have regular contact with top democratic lobbyists in Washington.
We are a prominent firm in Washington DC. Our clients are Senator Schumer (NY), Feinstein (CA), McCaskill (MS), Hagan (NC), Udall (CO), and Lt. Governor John Walsh (seeking Baucus’ open seat-MT). Working on these clients could help you get in the door to their official offices, or to places like the DNC, DSCC, and major lobbying firms.
Ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, detail-oriented, possess strong writing skills and communications skills.
Interns will be paid a $50/week stipend. Please send a resume to [email protected]
