The GW College Democrats have been invited to participate in CNN at GW and Slate Magazine’s “A Look into the Elections.”  Slate Chief Political Correspondent John Dickerson will moderate a panel including, Mickey Kaus, Bruce Reed, and Karen Tumulty of Time.  Questions will be taken from the audience.  The GW College Democrats have a special seating section, so if you are interested in attending, please contact Tanya Choudhury at to reserve your seat.

The GW College Democrats are proud to welcome to campus Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND).  Senator Dorgan, Chairman of the Democratic Policy Committee, is a strong voice for progressive issues on Capitol Hill.  He was first elected to the Senate in 1992, having first represented North Dakota in the House of Representatives for six terms.  In 2004, Senator Dorgan was overwhelmingly reelected to his second Senate tour.

Senator Dorgan has been a leader in fighting for the interests of rural Americans.  His work on Capital Hill has focused establishing strong farm policies for family farmers and fairer trade policy.  He has championed spreading the internet throughout rural America.  Senator Dorgan is also focused on reducing government waste and passing a balanced budget amendment.  In his talk, he will address these issues, as well as give his take on the upcoming November elections.
