CDs to Host Forum on Faith and Politics

The infusion of faith into the public square, and more specifically, Capitol Hill, is undeniable. On April 9th, the GW College Democrats will host a forum to examine if the role of faith in American political discourse has gone too far, and to discuss what function faith should play in the future.

This panel discussion will feature faith leaders, legislators, and Party leaders, all of diverse backgrounds and various views on the subject of faith and politics. The event will serve as a microcosm of the National debate going on in Churches, homes and Party Headquarters, and around kitchen tables across the country concerning values and politics.

The GW College Democrats are hosting this event to educate the public on the issues, and to signal that faith, even on a college campus, will not be monopolized by one political Party. This event is one of GW’s most collaborative student events of the year, with a broad array of political and religious organizations co-sponsoring, including the College Republicans.
